Light of Jesus Family

The story of the Light of Jesus Family is a series of miracles. Here are three miracles that jump-started their mission.

FIRST MIRACLE: ANOINTING OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
On March 26, 1978, Gene and Pilar Sanchez (parents of Bo) attended a Charismatic prayer meeting in Project 7, Quezon City, named Upper Room, after the Upper Room of a house in Jerusalem where the apostles experienced a manifestation of the Holy Spirit.

SECOND MIRACLE: A PROPHECY
On August 29, 1981, Bo attended a leaders’ seminar with Sis. Aida Manongdo, leader of the Upper Room prayer group. In this seminar, a prophecy was received that along with other leaders, Bo would preach the Word outside the Philippines.

THIRD MIRACLE: VISION OF A LIGHTHOUSE
On September 9, 1980, the Sanchez family started prayer meetings at the garage of their home at 56 Chicago Street, Cubao, Quezon City. On September 9, 1981, they formed the group into a faith community named the Light of Jesus (LOJ), after a vision of a lighthouse received by the friend of Bo’s mother.

THREE MAJOR MINISTRIES
The Light of Jesus Family exists in obedience to the mandate of Jesus to His apostles before He ascended into Heaven: “Go and make disciples of all nations” (Matthew 28:19). After deep prayer, Bo received a message from the Holy Spirit to set the Light of Jesus with three major ministries:

MISSION
•  The Feast, a weekly prayer gathering, now with more than 700 Feasts here in the Philippines and in 27 countries.
•  The Feast Family, an online prayer group, a borderless, international community of friends who support each other’s personal growth.
MEDIA
•  Print, through Shepherd’s Voice Publications Inc. which publishes bestsellers—The Feast and Bo’s bestselling books.
•  Broadcast, through the Shepherd’s Voice Radio and Television Foundation, producing the TV shows, Kerygma TV and Kape at Salita, the Gabay sa Bibliya radio program, as well as annual events such as the Feast Conference.
•  Online, through the reality show Preacher in Blue Jeans, the name Bo is called as he often conducts prayer meetings wearing denim jeans; podcast named Full Tank; Bo’s social network connections on Facebook and Twitter; The Feast Family and The Feast International online magazines.

MERCY
LOJ supports these partner mercy ministries: Jeremiah Foundation, shelter for abused girls; Grace to Be Born, for unwed women in crisis, so that they will not resort to abortion; He Cares Mission for street children; Pag-asa ng Pamilya, scholarship for out-of-school youth; Jesus Christ Cares for Cancer; H.A.I.L. MARY, acronym for Healthcare Assistance for Indigents and Lepers of Mary; Feast Little Acts of Love, recovery for disaster victims; LOJ Pastoral Care Center, counseling services; LOJ Prison Ministry; and Anawim Home for Abandoned Elderly promoted through the Anawim Herald magazine.
