Precious Blood Catholic Charismatic Community

In the beginning, a small group was organized by Bro. Nardz Macaspac, and it was composed of his family, relatives, and friends.

On January 3, 1982, they started their first Bible Study in their garage. To enhance their knowledge and spiritual growth, Fr. Gene Castañeda advised Bro. Nardz to hold a seminar called the “Catholic Life in the Spirit Seminar.”

In 1996, Bishop Ted Bacani officiated a Healing Mass at the F.G. Calderon Integrated School and on that day, the name of San Jose De Manuguit Catholic Prayer Group was renamed to Precious Blood Catholic Charismatic Community. Rev. Fr. Larry Faraon was appointed spiritual director.

In 1998, a two-story building was constructed in Abucay Street, Tondo, Manila for the use of the members of the prayer group.

In 2005, Rev. Fr. Virgilio Ojoy succeeded Fr. Larry Faraon as spiritual director. Fr. Larry left the community due to some commitments. Fr. Ojoy continues to be their spiritual director, providing spiritual guidance and enriching them with the Word of God.

In 2013, Bro. Nardz and Sis. Josie Macaspac migrated to the United States. Bro. Ferdy Villanueva then took charge of the responsibilities of the community under the spiritual guidance of Fr. Ojoy.

On March 7, 2014, Fr. Erick Santos, FTCC Spiritual Director, advised Bro. Ferdy to write a letter to Fr. Bobby Titco. Bro. Ferdy and Fr. Ojoy wrote a letter addressed to Fr. Titco informing him about the problem the community was facing, and requesting to use the Church facilities for the group’s religious activities, such as Sunday anticipated Masses, prayer meetings, and contemplative sessions. The community’s volunteers would give their monthly share to help the expenditures of the Church.

In April 2014, by virtue of the agreement among Fr. Titco, Fr. Ojoy, and Bro. Ferdy, the community started holding their religious activities in the church.

In 2015, Rev. Fr. Artemio Fabros became the new parish priest. The previous agreement was also applied.

Every December 2, the community celebrates “Founders’ Day” in honor of their beloved Founders, Bro. Nardz and Sis. Josie Macaspac wherein they give grocery items to the members of their community.

Before the pandemic, they would conduct a series of Catholic Life in the Spirit Seminars. Among the speakers were Bro. Adrian Panganiban and Bro. Bot Balbero. Lenten recollections were also held with Fr. Virgilio Ojoy and Fr. Arlo Yap as speakers. On September 29, 2022, when face-to-face gatherings were allowed, the community went back to the church to start their new regular fellowship meetings.
